Skip a Loan Payment with Cobalt Credit Union

Need a little extra room in your budget this month? If you have a qualifying Cobalt Credit Union loan, you may be able to skip one monthly payment and give yourself some breathing room.

Cobalt's Skip-A-Payment program allows eligible members to skip one payment on qualifying Auto, RV, Boat, Motorcycle and Personal Loans.

A $50 processing fee applies per loan, and interest continues to accrue during the skipped month.

How Skip-A-Payment Works

Skipping a loan payment doesn't erase the payment. Instead, your approved skipped payment moves your final loan due date out by one month.

Here's what to expect:

1. Check your loan eligibility
Skip-A-Payment is available for qualifying Cobalt Auto, RV, Boat, Motorcycle and Personal Loans.

2. Submit your request
Complete the Skip-A-Payment request with your information and loan details.

3. Wait for approval
Your request is subject to approval. You will only be contacted if your payment extension is denied.

4. Skip one monthly payment
If approved, you can skip one monthly loan payment.

5. Resume your regular payments
Your final loan due date will be extended by one month. Interest continues to accrue during the skipped month.

Which Loans Qualify for Skip-A-Payment?

Skip-A-Payment is available for qualifying:

  • Auto Loans
  • RV Loans
  • Boat Loans
  • Motorcycle Loans
  • Personal Loans

 

Online skip payment requests are limited to payments due within the next 30 days or currently within the grace period. Accounts more than 15 days past due are not eligible.

Loans Excluded from Skip-A-Payment

The following loan types are not eligible:

  • Mortgages
  • Business Loans
  • Lines of Credit
  • Credit Cards
  • Express Cash Loans
  • Share Secured Loans
  • CD Secured Loans
  • Home Equity Loans
  • Home Equity Lines of Credit
